The busiest of Bangkok’s main go-go bar areas is Nana Plaza, located in the heart of the popular Sukhumvit hotel district. It’s teeming with hot Thai go-go girls and provides the largest selection of beer bars and girls in Bangkok. If you’re straight off the plane for the first time, you should make a beeline for this part of town.
In Nana Plaza you’ll find dozens of bars with available ladies, along with freelancers milling about on the street. There are also some quieter restaurant/bars where you can escape the madness yet still flirt with the waitresses, or pop into one of the many massage places on the street; most of which are sure to give you a ‘happy ending’.
The popular ‘after-hours’ disco, Nana Liquid (now free), in the Nana Hotel is also a good place to meet girls in the wee hours. The main bars are in Nana Plaza itself, a three-storey arcade with plenty of go-go bars and beer bars.
Some of the best girls and stage shows are found in these discreet go-go bars, while the beer bars in the atrium are open-air affairs where you casually pick up a girl to take home. As with all bars, you will have to pay a ‘bar fine’ to take the girl away – at least 500/600 baht in Nana.
Inside Nana Plaza, you will be overwhelmed with female company – starting with the two bars at the entrance that face onto the street – and are full of sexy ladies, usually yelling ‘hello welcome, handsum man’. Step inside and you’ll find a large choice; you can simply wander around, pop your head into some of the go-go bars and decide which one to settle in.
Can you bring someones back to your hotel?

If you sit for more than a few minutes you will be expected to buy a drink. Don’t worry, there is no surprise rip-off, like the ‘ping pong shows’ of Patpong, but expect drinks to be 150 baht ($5) minimum. At some of the more imaginative and classy joints in Nana Plaza, such as Angelwitch, the show and ladies on display are well worth the inflated drinks prices. Rainbow 4 and Rainbow 2 are also noted for having some of the sexiest girls in Bangkok.
There’s also quite a lot of activity at the top end of Soi Nana, and this street is right in the heart of Bangkok, close to Siam Square, Pratunam shopping district and the many good hotels, restaurants, bars and tourist services that are found on the popular Sukhumvit Road.
Meeting horny local girls for free
Most ‘bachelors’ visiting Thailand opt for the easy solution of visiting go go and girlie bars, but there are also lots of regular girls who aren’t prostitutes but keen on meeting foreigners for a fling. Hundreds of lonely and horny modern city girls go looking online for sex with visiting or resident westerners, no strings attached. They aren’t expecting money or a boyfriend and haven’t been with scores of other men.
Soi Nana is also known as Sukhumvit soi 4, since it leads off this major street in the city. Nana is somewhat of a freewheeling corner of the city, and your initial impression might judge it as a bit seedy, with street vendors selling knock-off goods, tuk-tuk drivers milling about and, of course, loads of prostitutes trawling the littered street. By picking up one of these girls from the street you avoid the bar fine and lady drinks, but they should be treated with caution.
Across Sukhumvit Road, within a few minutes’ walk of Nana Plaza, is the Arab Quarter of Bangkok. In this area you will also find several other bars that are more upmarket and frequented by classy freelancing prostitutes. Gullivers’ is a popular, large sports bar where men are outnumbered, and it offers a more respectable experience.
